Double Roti: A Real Breadwinner
Double Roti has always been celebrated for its signature style with its primary color hues, the cheese grater lights, potted plants and cutting board chalk doodles.
Located at Elamkulam, they also deliver this quirkiness and originality in their food. The infamous Oreo O Oreo Shake comes in an eccentric flowerpot and tastes as delightful as it looks. The other drinks we tried weren’t as price worthy, with the Nimbu Pani being a simple lime juice, but, priced at 95/-.
The Caramelized and Grilled Sausage Fries are a must try. It might be a little bland for some people but its crunchiness and chewiness makes up for it. The wraps we tried were the Grilled Chicken and Onion, Tangy Paneer Tikka and the Chicken Sheekh Kabab. All three were beyond satisfactory and filling for anyone who isn’t too hungry.
But Double Roti is best known for their legendary burgers and sandwiches. The Hey Bhagwan is one such legend for sure. It is one kg of pure beef, fries, cheese, mayo and caramelized onions. Finishing it in one go would be hard for most people unless you’ve got that big an appetite. And with the price, it would be smarter to share the meal.
The Tuna That Melts Ver is the Double Roti version of a classic tuna melt. It certainly melts in your mouth and fills your stomach at the same time. The Veg burgers on the other hand weren’t as delectable. The Veg Mexican Wave promises a spicy salsa experience but a better option would be to go to the nearest McDonalds and having a McSpicy Paneer.
The Double Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream was delicious and the plating exemplary.
On the whole, the Double Roti experience would be recommended to anyone who wants to try a cozy and scrumptious lunch or dinner at a chic and pleasant restaurant.
