MARUTI SWIFT 2018
If we talk about the hatchback segments in India, one among the most popular cars that comes in to our mind is Maruti Suzuki Swift. Launched in 2005, it conquered the streets in India due to its popularity among Indian population. It was redesigned two times, first in 2011 and then in 2014. With new performance upgrades and outlooks, the swift has been redesigned once again and the new avatar of swift has been launched with the name, Maruti Swift 2018.
Maruti has been successful in bringing the sporty element in its new avatar. The new swift is just an evolution of the previous one. Its curvy edges, new sporty grilled bumper and headlights featuring integrated daytime running lamps had took the model in to a different level. The interiors of the new swift had been made to be more premium as well as classic in its looks, with automatic climate control system. There is no change in the engines as it is the same engine of the previous version. It is built upon a 1.2L K-series petrol engine and a 1.3L DDiS diesel engine with 5 speed manual transmission. The petrol engine offers a mileage of 22kmpl and diesel engine is expected to give a mileage of 28.4kmpl. The new swift is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 8.29 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The new swift is expected to be a massive hit among the Indian car markets.
HYUNDAI ELITE i20
In the hatchback segment of Indian car market, the competition is getting even stronger as Hyundai came up with its newest version of i20-Hyundai Elite i20, which makes a strong competition to the newly launched Maruti Swift 2018. The newest avatar of i20 does not have much of a difference from the previous version. The change that had been made is that the car is provided with the new Hyundai family grille, which was not given to the previous versions.
The new i20 has been launched with the new touchscreen infotainment system. It secures the interior with 6 airbags and Isofix child seat anchorage too. It comes with 1.4L diesel engine with 6 speed transmission and 1.2L petrol engine with 5 speed transmission. The highway runs revealed a mileage range from 13.41kmpl to 21.2kmpl. Apart from all these the new avatar of elite i20 is almost similar to the previous one. It has put some effort in bringing additional security and comfort measures. The ex-showroom price starts from Rs 5.38 lakhs to Rs 9.19 lakhs. The i20 has always been the premium hatchback in the mind of Indian population and it will always be.
